ACOCEX in the European Commission

Our associate Mikel Paterson went to Brussels last November as a representative of ACOCEX and invited by the European Union, to present the European Commission’s trade policies for young European leaders.

This event was born from the intention of the European Commission to promote the benefits of international trade in the face of the increasing challenges and threats that the current multilateral system is facing with trade wars, countries applying protectionist policies and citizens questioning the real benefits of the agreements free trade.

More than 50 invited organizations participated in the event (NGOs, Universities, business associations, start-ups or public institutions such as chambers of commerce or commercial offices), and important personalities (Commissioner of Commerce of Europe Cecilia MALMSTRÖM, Minister of Industry of Spain Maria REYES MAROTO or WTO Deputy Director Karl BRAUNER).

I National Forum of the Herbodiethetic Sector and related in Librilla (Murcia)

The Murcian town of Librilla in its commitment to development and foreign trade will be the headquarters of the I National Forum of the Herbodiethetic Sector and related on February 9, 2019

The first edition of the National Forum of the Herbodietético Sector and related aims to be a meeting point between the four agents of the herbodietético sector and related, producers, laboratories, herbalists and naturopaths addressing the problems of the sector from different points of view and favoring the interrelation between both of them.

This important event organized by the National Association of Foreign Trade (Acocex), OCN Fenaco and El Rincón del Naturópata (Onda3 Radio) will bring together hundreds of professionals from all over the national territory, underlining the fruitful relationship between the laboratories and their agri-food producers, the herbalists as points of sale and naturopaths as true prescribers of the product to the final consumer.

ACOCEX SIGNS AS A COLLABORATING ENTITY OF THE INTER PYME CLUB

On November 16, the award ceremony for the II ACOCEX BANKIA AWARDS FOR INTERNATIONALIZATION was held at the elegant headquarters of the Lázaro Galdiano Foundation in Madrid.

With the main support of BANKIA, and the sponsorships of MAPFRE, CASICO AND AIRE TRADUCCIONES, ACOCEX organized the gala party, which was attended by businessmen, representatives of embassies and personalities from the foreign trade sector, and which was presented by journalist Beatriz Triper. The awards ceremony, in turn, had the presence and courtesy of Javier Serra, Director of Internationalization of the international SMEs department of ICEX, who so kindly accompanied us on the evening.

Agreement with EYPASA

ACOCEX has signed a framework collaboration agreement with EYPASA – ALIMENTARIA MAGAZINE through which ACOCEX remains at the disposal of all companies in the field and sector of food production to resolve doubts and internationalization projects.

Within the framework of the collaboration agreement with the Getafe City Council to promote the internationalization of companies and self-employed in the municipality, ACOCEX participated as a speaker at the I Getafe Employment Fair to inform about the job opportunities offered by the international trade sector in its different lines of activity.

‘Alcobendas around the world’ – Middle East and Arab Countries

Conference in Alcobendas: “MIDDLE EAST AND ARAB COUNTRIES: BUSINESS AND CULTURAL CHALLENGE”

On November 24, the Alcobendas City Council and ACOCEX will present the business opportunities offered by the North African or Maghreb, Persian Gulf and Middle East markets and the guidelines to follow to develop them successfully, within the cycle of free support workshops Alcobendas internationalization around the world.

The workshop will start with the presentation of the different regions in which the Arab and Muslim world is usually divided – North Africa or Maghreb, Persian Gulf and the Middle East -, indicating the peculiarities of each one and the growth and business foci that exist for Spanish companies.

ACOCEX professionals will explain, based on their direct experience in Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Morocco and Algeria, among others, what are the entry options to these markets, which are very different from each other, and how to negotiate correctly following some Well-defined protocol standards to maximize the chances of your internationalization success.

The workshop will end with a round table and a question and answer session where attendees will be able to express their doubts and comments.

“ALCOBENDAS AROUND THE WORLD” – Europe

Conference in Alcobendas: “EUROPE – OUR NATURAL MARKET AND MAIN CUSTOMER”

On September 22, the Alcobendas City Council and ACOCEX will present the business opportunities offered by the European markets and the guidelines to follow to develop them successfully, within the cycle of free workshops to support Alcobendas internationalization around the world.

The workshop will start with the presentation of the different Europes to understand the particularities of each block: Euro Zone, EU of 28 and non-EU countries. Next, success stories of Spanish companies will be shared to illustrate how to approach these markets with examples, among others, of new forms of distribution and how to avoid price being the most important variable in the marketing mix.

Brexit will also be addressed, exposing both the current situation and the consequences that are expected in the future with a view to doing business with and from the United Kingdom, and it will end with a question time and individual meetings with the speakers, upon request. .

Closure in Madrid of the PUSH PULL France Youth Program

Last Tuesday, July 12, the closing of the “PUSH PULL” France Youth Program, financed by the General Directorate of Migration and executed by FENAC with the collaboration of ACOCEX, took place at the CEOE headquarters in Madrid.

The event was attended by Mr. Joaquín Alonso from FENAC, de Ms. Katia Martínez from ACOCEX and, very especially, Ms. Leyre Quesada and Mr. Francisco Guichard, two of the three students who, having completed the program of training, presented the best business ideas and won a free trip and stay in Madrid to present them to potential investors. The third award-winning student, Ms. María García, was unable to attend the closing session due to scheduling problems.

During the first part of the event, the “PUSH PULL” program was presented, brief brushstrokes were given on the commercial relations between France and Spain and the extreme importance that, in the interest of the internationalization of Spanish companies, has, not only mastering the language, the applicable legislation, etc., but also knowing the market first-hand to know “how it breathes”.

The second part of the event was dedicated to the presentation of the business ideas of the winning students: the promotion and commercialization of trampoline parks by Ms. Leyre Quesada, and the creation and implementation in France of a new concept fast and healthy restoration imbued with the character of Spanish tapas, by D. Francisco Guichard.

The day ended with a Spanish wine during which the young people were congratulated by the attendees and were able to talk with investors and professionals interested in their projects.
